The Cool Shield Aisle Containment Double Sliding Data Center Door system is an integral part of a highly efficient aisle containment solution. The double sliding data center door is ideal for use on aisles 48” and wider. The center opening doors minimize the overall footprint in both directions and a low-profile depth of only 3 ½” prevents interference with other infrastructure. Multiple standard height and width options allow the doors to optimized for various cabinet heights and aisle widths.
Cool Shield sliding doors are highly functional and very attractive. The doors open via an extending slide rail which allows the header to be the same width as the door frames. This design is not only space efficient but provides a very clean look in your data center. The heavy-duty ball bearing slide rails have an ultra-smooth opening and closing motion. An optional hydraulic self-closing mechanism is hidden in the header to ensure that doors are not accidentally left open. The closing speed can be quickly adjusted with a turn of a readily accessible screw. A magnetic door catch is provided to allow doors to hold in the fully open position if equipment needs to be brought into the aisles.
Superior design efficiency results in a solution that is extremely sturdy, installs easily and most importantly, seals airflow. Our robust square vertical supports and header feature threaded channels for simply securing doors to floor, cabinets, strut grid or nearly any support. The door frames are 1 ½” thick and 3” wide to provide a solid feel when opening and closing. These frames surround a fire-rated, fully transparent viewing window to allow visibility into the contained aisle. The doors ship with a ½” thick foam strip to ensure the doors have a tight seal against cabinet end panels. Magnetic gaskets on both doors bring the doors together tightly to eliminate air loss.
Finally, the Cool Shield door system is designed to have a low cost of ownership. Doors are shipped nearly fully assembled at our factory so minimal time and labor is required on-site. Each door is packaged as efficiently as possible to prevent over-size charges and minimize on-site storage requirements. The door design incorporates as few parts as possible resulting in less things which can go wrong and little to no maintenance.
